Company Profile
Encino Energy is the largest oil producer in Ohio and one of the largest natural gas producers in the state. While headquartered in Houston, our operations in the prolific Northern Utica Shale make us the largest oil producer in Ohio and the second-largest natural gas producer in the state. With a keen focus on meeting all local, regional, and national environmental, health, and safety requirements, Encino Energy needed digital solutions to help manage their worksites. The team relied upon the Avetta One platform to achieve continued success at keeping their workforce job sites capable and safe.

Business Challenges
With an ever-changing and challenging fieldwork environment, Encino Energy is responsible for maintaining a safe workplace staffed by capable contractors and subcontractors. Encino Energies continuous exploration and production operations, along with ever-changing contractor and subcontractor workforces, creates a complex on-site workplace. Keeping job sites safe requires all workers to be skilled in implementing and executing hazard mitigation plans.
On-Site Real-Time Management: The advent of mobile-based digital environmental, health, and safety platforms, such as Avetta One, provides contractors, subcontractor suppliers, and the Encino Energy EHS Director with synergistic access to their compliance status. The real-time tracking and updates accessible by all suppliers and Encino Energy allows management in the field to be aware of their suppliers' job readiness and allows for the timely completion of all necessary EHS demands to manage their workforce readiness.
Breadth of Coverage: Due to the continuous need for health and safety compliance for the ever-changing supplier workforce, manual solutions are too slow and laborious. With a digital platform like Avetta One, the Encino Energy field and office personnel, as well as suppliers, could be assured of worker-level compliance along with their historical performance. On a real-time basis, efficient field access to supplier compliance information was now a practical matter that could be accessed by all parties, anytime from anywhere. In addition, timely updates for points of contact in the field along with their profiles were now available.
Updates and Tracking: Encino Energy had a need to implement a customizable digital application that could be integrated into their field operations to provide ongoing updates on audits and surveys. This process has ensured that suppliers would be better prepared for their job requirements. Centralized platforms like Avetta One that were intuitively easy to use for all and that offered a reasonable cost to suppliers were key to a successful implementation. Not only were timely updates and tracking of compliance requirements necessary but also increased communication between suppliers and field managers, an essential step to assure all suppliers were ready and able to perform the work required.
The Avetta Solution
Along with the customizable solution, Encino Energy was pleasantly surprised by the robust support that came as part of the Avetta offering. For Encino Energy and their suppliers, continuous support for all health and safety compliance concerns and ongoing updates were a hallmark of the Avetta commitment to customer service and support. The discounted personal protective equipment, or PPE, to their various contractors and subcontractors was a welcome benefit, along with the Avetta consulting services. Whether it was certificate of insurance compliance or the follow up for supplier job readiness, the Avetta One solution alleviated the need for contractors and subcontractors to carry multiple safety-related cards while increasing their compliance visibility to Encino Energy field leadership.
Going Forward
With the advent of contractors employing more subcontractors, the need for widespread adoption and use of Avetta’s mobile platform is continuing to be a priority. With a workforce that is increasingly transient at the contractor- and especially subcontractor-levels, the need for ubiquitous use of timely health and safety information for all workers is never more important and necessary. The implementation of worker management along with job applicable prequalification as a high-level worker requirement is ongoing, along with integration of the Avetta One platform and HSE requirements into the daily field operations of Encino Energy.

“The Avetta platform is very customizable and has made communication extremely easy and centralized to ensure that approvals and information is passed to the field operations and to the people that matter most. The feedback that Encino Energy has received is that communication between Avetta's staff and them has been seamless, and very simple.”
