Avetta helped Hilton Foods streamline contractor compliance and training across multiple sites, ensuring a safer workforce, reducing administrative burden and improving operational efficiency through a centralised, digital platform.
Challenges in compliance management
Hilton Foods, part of the Hilton Food Group, set a top priority to continually improve health and safety across its global operations. After branching out from Woolworths in 2018, Hilton needed to replicate the same strong contractor risk management systems that Woolworths had with Avetta. Without a centralised platform, ensuring that workers were properly qualified and trained to reduce injury risk was difficult.
The Avetta experience
Drawing on his experience from Woolworths, Chris Taylor, Head of Safety and Wellbeing, introduced Avetta’s Pre-Qualification, Workforce Management and Learning Management products to Hilton Foods. The platform enabled Hilton to manage the safety and compliance of over 2,800 workers from 208 companies across four sites. Contractors were required to prove qualifications and complete mandatory safety training, ensuring consistent standards across the workforce.
Benefits of partnership with Avetta
With Avetta, Hilton Foods streamlined contractor onboarding, cut admin requirements and mobilised its workforce through an online qualification system. The centralised solution reduced the workload for safety managers by 15% while delivering long-term cost savings. During COVID-19, Avetta’s site access and worker profile features helped Hilton to trace workers quickly and maintain site safety. The result was stronger compliance, safer worksites and greater efficiency for both Hilton and its contractors.
