Avetta Helps Businesses Turn Sustainability Risk Into Action

New Supplier Sustainability Risk Diagnostic provides visibility into specific sustainability risks across large, complex supply chains, helping hiring organisations prioritise due diligence and empowering suppliers and contractors to strengthen ESG maturity

LONDON – 22 October 2026 – Avetta®, the leader in intelligent work readiness across global supply chains, today introduced the Supplier Sustainability Risk Diagnostic. This new service complements Avetta’s supplier risk mapping capabilities by combining AI-assisted analysis with the deep expertise of Avetta's industry-leading Risk Advisory practice to help hiring clients identify environmental, social and governance (ESG) risk across broader supplier and contractor populations. By providing visibility into specific, topic-level sustainability risk that may warrant deeper due diligence, the diagnostic helps these organisations prioritise where attention is needed and determine practical next steps. In turn, it gives suppliers and contractors greater clarity into client expectations and opportunities to improve ESG maturity. The news was announced in conjunction with the Avetta Summit Series event taking place in London.

The Supplier Sustainability Risk Diagnostic arrives as many organisations struggle to keep pace with rising supply chain risk and regulatory pressure, such as the European Union’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive. In fact, recent research suggests 77% of organisations report increased supply chain and workforce risk over the past 12 months, while 71% also say compliance requirements have grown more complex over the same period. Yet only 44% have fully centralised, real-time visibility into third-party risk factors. With 50% of organisations identifying improved predictive risk visibility as a top strategic priority, these findings point to a growing need for tools that help leaders move from fragmented data to actionable insight and more proactive decision-making.

“Many organisations know sustainability risk exists within their supply chains, but they often struggle to determine where attention is needed most," said Jaclyn Bakalarski, Principal, Sustainability and ESG at Avetta. “Too often, sustainability teams are forced to make important decisions with only partial visibility into where risk may exist, spending valuable time determining which suppliers, geographies or issues warrant closer examination. The Supplier Sustainability Risk Diagnostic helps businesses focus their efforts with rapid topic-level insights, make more informed decisions and engage their supply chain network more effectively. In so doing, suppliers and contractors then gain clearer visibility into evolving requirements so they can focus improvement efforts where they matter most.”

Designed as a practical starting point for risk-based human rights and environmental due diligence, the Supplier Sustainability Risk Diagnostic uses AI-assisted insights together with Avetta’s Risk Advisory expertise to evaluate vast supplier populations across factors such as industry, material business activity and geographic and regulatory jurisdictions to identify areas where sustainability-related exposure may be concentrated. The solution can assess suppliers and contractors both inside and outside the Avetta community, helping organisations gain a broader understanding of potential risk and prioritise supplier and contractor engagement around topics such as human rights, modern slavery, greenhouse gas emissions, conflict minerals, water and waste.

Unlike solutions that simply generate risk scores or flags, the Supplier Sustainability Risk Diagnostic also leverages Avetta's Risk Advisory experts to help customers interpret results, understand business implications and determine appropriate next steps. In this way, the diagnostic builds on the same risk mapping approach Avetta uses to help organisations identify and manage risk across not only sustainability, but health and safety, financial management, procurement and operations as well, providing a connected view of supply chain risk and areas for improvement.

“The sustainability landscape is becoming increasingly complex as organisations face growing expectations from regulators, investors, customers and the public,” said Elisa Molero, Senior Analyst at Verdantix. “Businesses need practical ways to move beyond broad assessments and translate sustainability data into meaningful action. Approaches that merge scalable analysis with expert interpretation can help companies on both sides of the supply chain make more informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.”
