Yancoal partnered with Avetta to build a world-class workforce compliance platform, managing 12,000+ workers across 10 sites, with streamlined training, vetting and analytics.
The challenge
Yancoal is Australia’s largest pure coal producer, operating and managing multiple mines across Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia. With over 12,000 workers and visitors across its sites, the company faced significant compliance challenges. One missed accreditation or lapsed training module posed unacceptable risks.
Yancoal previously used an Avetta system at several sites and saw promise in standardising it company-wide. To achieve this, Yancoal entered into a development partnership with Avetta to build a new workforce compliance platform with cutting-edge features and integrations.
The partnership
The relationship was more than vendor-client; it was collaborative development. Yancoal presented clear requirements, and Avetta adapted its platform to meet them. Together, they built the Avetta Client Portal, tailored to Yancoal’s workforce and safety needs.
‘Yancoal views the Avetta Client Portal project as a partnership. It has a vision for where it wants the software to be and backs the development work needed for the project.’
– John Furner, Principal Lead – Mining and Resources APAC, Avetta
