AVETTA TO LEAD ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION AT WORLD PROCUREMENT CONGRESS AND PRESENT SUPPLY CHAIN INITIATIVE AWARD

MAIDENHEAD, UK, May 3, 2016 – Avetta (formerly PICS), the global leader in supply chain risk management solutions, has confirmed its participation and sponsorship for events to take place at the World Procurement Congress with Procurement Leaders at the InterContinental London from May 17-18, 2016. Avetta’s Regional Vice President, Rhys Bush, will lead a roundtable discussion on Global Procurement: Managing Supply Chain Risk in a Volatile World - Improving Management of Global Procurement Teams on Tuesday, May 17 at 3:10pm. The World Procurement Awards are the most celebrated and sought after awards in procurement, representing the best projects, people, and organisations across the world.

How Do We Hasten Supply-Chain Digitization?

It’s not an overstatement to point out that supply chains are essentially running the industrial world.

The supply chain is vital to the global economy. A year-long study by the World Economic Forum points out that if every country in the world were to improve two key barriers — border administration and transport, and communications infrastructure — to even half the level of the strongest country they evaluated (Singapore), this one step would increase global GDP by nearly 5%, and global exports by nearly 15%. (By comparison, if we were to eliminate all import tariffs, global GDP would grow by a mere 0.7%.)
