  • OSHA Fines Far More Expensive Starting in August | Construction News – Lift and Access: Beginning August 1, OSHA fines will rise for the first time in 26 years. The 78 percent increase is the result of legislation Congress enacted in November 2015, requiring federal agencies to adjust their civil penalties to account for inflation. Moving forward, penalties will continues to be adjusted for inflation each year based on the Consumer Price Index.
