IRVINE, Calif.- Avetta is proud to announce that Matt Southgate, Audit Manager for Avetta’s EMEA markets, has been selected to serve on the Board of Directors on the Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) Forum Management Group (FMG).
“I’m delighted to have been voted onto the board of this important industry body,” Southgate said. “SSIP has played a key role in significantly reducing duplication within the prequalification process, and I’m very much looking forward to helping SSIP continue this success story.”
Founded in 2009 and supported by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), SSIP streamlines prequalification and encourages straightforward mutual recognition between its member schemes through transparent, simple, and strategic procurement, according to its website. With more than 75,000 registered suppliers, SSIP actively reduces health and safety assessment costs and bureaucracy in the supply chain by making cross-recognition between member schemes as effective as possible and highlighting the savings to buyers and suppliers.
"Matt has demonstrated great integrity and due diligence as the EMEA Audit Manager for Avetta,” said Chad Frost, Avetta Auditing Manager. “His election is a testament to his efforts in advancing common health and safety assessment criteria and mutual recognition amongst SSIP members and allows for greater visibility for Avetta as a leading global SaaS supply chain risk management solution.”
Southgate, who has over 15 years’ experience working within the certification and prequalification sectors, currently manages a team of auditors in Avetta’s European region. As a member of SSIP’s Board of Directors, he will play an active role in SSIP’s strategic development helping to improve industry recognition of SSIP and its significant benefits.
