According to a 2019 report from the Construction Leadership Council in the United Kingdom, the construction sector in the UK is changing. New technology, the status of the country within the EU, as well as demands of the built environment are forcing the industry to adapt. The construction industry needs to prioritize nontechnical skills and performance-enhancing behaviors alongside improved technical and digital skills to create positive, collaborative, solutions-based environments. Individual behavior is a critical influencing factor determining project success, whether for an alliance, enterprise, or any other form of relational contract.  

Traditional Skills: It is essential for traditional skills and knowledge to be maintained to ensure the construction industry can preserve and extend existing infrastructure and historic sites.
